Strategic Plan

2024-2025

Mission Statement:  Maintain a superior and safe snowmobile trail system supporting the needs of the snowmobile enthusiasts which contributes to the economic vitality of our community.

Strategic Goals with Supporting Activities:

•  Increase communication outreach to the snowmobile community.

§  Use social media/pictures to tell our story.

§  Groomer Report tracking on priestlakegroomers.org.

§  Stress Registration for 9A and registration requirement.

§  Provide advice to maintain quality of trails.

§  Place communication materials at warming huts.

•  Maintain a superior and safe trail system to enhance participation and use by   our regions snowmobilers.

§  Provide driver training on groomer as well as snowmobile.

§  Maintain and update routine groomer schedule. 

§  Provide education explaining how trails are damaged. Use social media and signage to get the word out.

§  Make trail map improvement and trail signage.

§  Where appropriate provide groomed access to/from local businesses.

•  Strive to maintain adequate funding to provide for the needs of the   snowmobile trail system.

§  Work with local law enforcement to encourage enforcement of registration requirements.

§  Encourage government to open up restricted areas.

§  Seek additional funding from the Snowmobile Community to enhance the Groomer Operation Budget.

•  Provide quality maintenance and preparation for our grooming 

§  Require groomer operator’s participation in equipment maintenance.

§   Hire qualified drivers, provide Driver Training, and require proper use of operation logbook and operational checklist.

§  Perform ongoing facility maintenance and plowing for trail access.

§  Restock firewood at each warming hut and encourage assistance from the public.

§  Fully use the resources provided by Tucker Snowcat.

•  Comply with all rules and regulations of State of Idaho, USDA Forest Service, Idaho Department of Lands and Bonner County related to the Groomer   Advisory Board.

§  Abide by all the requirements and expectations from Idaho and Bonner County for the Groomer Advisory Board. 

§  Research and seek organizational grant from these government entities.
